Our Best Lunch, Sorry, ‘Munch’ to Date!
We recently held our rebranded ‘legal munch’ in Manchester, and let’s just say, it was a huge success. Hosted at the delightful Comptoir Libanais in Spinningfields, the food was extraordinary, the service top-notch, and the company unbeatable. With nearly 30 attendees, this event was our best ‘munch’ yet!
Networking and Nibbles
The event kicked off at 12.30pm with a relaxed networking session. Picture this: professionals with drinks in
hand, mingling effortlessly, sharing stories, and forming connections. It’s like speed dating but for lawyers—and much less awkward!
Introduction to the NLA and Partners
At 1pm, Andrew Byrne took the stage (or rather, the dining area) to introduce the NLA and order our eagerly
anticipated meals. While we waited for the culinary delights to arrive, we had the pleasure of hearing from two
of our esteemed partners:
- Martin Siddle from SN25: Martin enlightened us on how law firms can harness the power of IT and AI to
streamline efficiencies. If you thought AI was just for sci-fi movies, think again. Martin’s insights made it
clear that the future is now, and it’s pretty darn exciting. - Jamie McElwaine of Rhubarb Legal Finance+: Jamie debunked the myth that finance is only for
struggling law firms. Through three compelling examples, he demonstrated how strategic funding can
significantly boost a firm’s profitability. Who knew finance could be so lucrative and, dare we say, fun?
Food Glorious Food
As our discussions wrapped up, the food arrived, and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect accompaniment to our ongoing conversations. By 2.30pm, Mick Eardley took the floor to highlight the benefits of joining the NLA.
Attendees were handed postcards with a QR code to make joining us as easy as pie—because who doesn’t love
a bit of tech with their dessert?
A Few Words and Future Events
Mick summed it up perfectly: “We ask law firms to buy into the concept. We really are stronger together, and the larger we get, the more value we can add. At the moment, membership is just £100 per month for the entire law firm, which will pay for itself on so many fronts.”
Andrew Byrne added, “We are not a lunch club! Our lunches are free to members and provide valuable time
away from their desks. It’s a way to get to know our members in a relaxed environment. We can then help them get more work, reduce their costs, and take advantage of the benefits we offer.”
See You Soon!
Next stop: London on 26th June, before heading back to the North for events in Leeds and Liverpool in July. We
can’t wait to see you there!
Join us for more laughs, learning, and, of course, munching. Because at the NLA, we believe the best ideas
come with a side of great food!
